Walking times are each hotel’s own published estimate to Namba Station (via their nearest exit), sourced from the hotel’s official website or a major booking platform — not calculated by us. Actual walking time can vary depending on which station exit you use, your luggage, and your pace. Please confirm exact directions on a maps app before booking.

1. Japanese Gourmet (Wagyu, Yakiniku & Sushi)
| # | Restaurant Name | Est. Walk | Top Feature & Concept | Navigation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Halal Yakiniku Zerohachi (Namba OCAT) | 1 min | Halal-certified all-you-can-eat yakiniku with a dedicated halal kitchen. Directly connected to JR Namba Station via OCAT Mall — on-site prayer room with wudu facilities. Private rooms seat up to 24. | Google Maps |
| 2 | Namba-Tei Halal Wagyu Steak & Burger | 4 mins | 100% Japanese halal Wagyu steaks and burgers from a 5th-generation butcher family, right on the Dotonbori strip. Highly rated by inbound Muslim travelers. | Google Maps |
| 3 | Ganko Hozenji | 5 mins | Long-running Kyoto-style Japanese restaurant with a Muslim-friendly menu certified by the Kyoto Halal Council — crab, sashimi, and noodle dishes. Not a fully halal kitchen, so confirm specific dishes with staff. | Google Maps |
| 4 | Ganko Takoyaki (Dotonbori) | 4 mins | Muslim-friendly takoyaki right on the Dotonbori strip — a rare halal option for Osaka’s signature street snack. | Google Maps |
| 5 | FUJIYAMA TOKYO (Osaka Namba Branch) | 10 mins | Premium Muslim-friendly halal sushi & snow crab course dining, cooked and served in a dedicated halal-only area. Advance reservation required — specify the Muslim-friendly course when booking. | Google Maps |
2. Halal Ramen Houses
| # | Restaurant Name | Est. Walk | Top Feature & Concept | Navigation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6 | Halal Ramen HONOLU Osaka Namba | 4 mins | Osaka’s original halal-certified ramen counter — rich Chicken Paitan broth, Hokkaido wheat noodles, no pork bones or pork fat anywhere in the kitchen. On-site prayer space. (Via Yotsubashi Line Exit 32; ~10 min via Osaka Metro Namba.) | Google Maps |
| 7 | Asia Shokudo 585 (Halal Restaurant 585, Namba OCAT) | 1 min | Sister restaurant to Zerohachi, right next to it on OCAT 5F. Spicy Miso Kobe Beef Ramen, Chicken Katsudon, Tempura Rice Bowls, and even halal shabu-shabu. No alcohol served, on-site prayer room. | Google Maps |
| 8 | Halal Wagyu & Vegan Ramen Gyumon | 8 mins | Fusion of Japanese ramen tradition with halal ingredients — creamy white-broth and spicy wagyu ramen topped with A5 halal wagyu. Also caters to vegan diners, useful for mixed dietary groups. | Google Maps |
3. Osaka Specialties: Okonomiyaki & Teppanyaki
| # | Restaurant Name | Est. Walk | Top Feature & Concept | Navigation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9 | CHIBO Diversity Dotonbori | 5 mins | Osaka’s first Muslim-friendly okonomiyaki restaurant, run by a 50+ year okonomiyaki institution. Dedicated 7th-floor halal kitchen with all-new teppan grills, halal wagyu, and a prayer room with wudu facility. Note: alcohol is served on other floors of the building — head straight to 7F. | Google Maps |
4. South Asian, Malaysian & Global Flavors
| # | Restaurant Name | Est. Walk | Top Feature & Concept | Navigation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | KENNYasia Halal Malaysia | 5 mins | Osaka’s original Malaysian & Singaporean halal restaurant, family-run since 2006. Hainanese chicken rice, laksa, nasi lemak, roti canai — imported Malaysian spice pastes for authentic flavor. Cozy, converted from an old Japanese bathhouse. | Google Maps |
| 11 | Nobanno Namba Osaka Halal Restaurant | 4 mins | Bangladeshi halal kitchen right on Dotonbori — seekh kebab, garlic naan, and chicken/mutton/vegetable biryani are the specialties. | Google Maps |
Namba has a much smaller halal food scene than areas like Ueno — this list covers 11 verified spots rather than 30, and we’ve left out a couple of Namba’s most commonly recommended “halal” restaurants after finding credible reports questioning their halal status. “Halal-certified” and “Muslim-friendly” are different things in Japan (Japan has no single government halal authority) — always confirm directly with staff before ordering, especially at self-declared “Muslim-friendly” spots that also serve alcohol elsewhere on the premises. Walking times are estimates from Namba Station and can vary by exit.
Halal Grocery Marts in Namba Area
| # | Store Name | Est. Walk | Top Feature & Concept | Navigation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 12 | Salam Halal Foods Store | 5 mins | Halal-certified grocer on the 3rd floor of the Maruesu Building, close to Namba Station. Halal meat, oil, rice, beans, spices, snacks, and cosmetics from several countries — and unusually, an on-site prayer room and private room for a grocery shop. | Google Maps |
| 13 | Everest Spice Mart | 3 mins | Halal-certified spice and grocery shop near Namba Parks, in front of the Hiyori Hotel. Good for South Asian spices, halal meat, and a dedicated Muslim menu. Note: the store’s own listing shows it also stocks pork products elsewhere on the shelves, so check labels carefully rather than assuming everything in the shop is halal. | Google Maps |
| 14 | Gyomu Super Kozu (Nipponbashi) | 4 mins (from Nipponbashi Sta) | A branch of Japan’s famous wholesale grocery chain with a certified halal, no-pork, no-alcohol section plus a prayer room — one subway stop from Namba Station on the Sennichimae Line, so easy to combine with a Den Den Town shopping trip. | Google Maps |
| 15 | JAPANeid Kiosk (Minamihorie) | ~15 mins | Billed as Japan’s largest Muslim-friendly souvenir kiosk, with around 100 halal snack and gift items — best treated as a souvenir stop rather than a everyday grocery run, given the walk from central Namba. | Google Maps |
